Songs of Australia is Dave Johnson's revised collection of some 320 Australian songs assembled and published as a weighty tome and also available online. It includes old bush songs, settings of poems including some discovered by Mark Gregory's Trove research, as well as some contemporary works.
The paper copy can be purchased directly from Dave at functions such as the Oz Session on the First Friday of the month at the Goulburn Club. Details here. The online version provides access to the abc files which can be useful for modifying keys to suit other vocal ranges.
Folk Songs of Australia is an authorative online collection of songs maintained by Mark Gregory. Many of the recent additions have come from his Trove research.
An Australian Folk Song A Day is a great repository of some common and much less common Australian songs put together by the late John Thompson. The songs have been recorded by John and previously could be listened to online. They are now available as a 2 CD set for $50 from his website.
